Timothy Slifer was born in Rome, Italy and raised in London, England as well as San Francisco.
I started my career in food apprenticing under Phillipe Jeanty atDomaine Chandon in the Napa Valley in the late 1980′s while attending school at the California College of Arts & Crafts. From there I moved on to the Cypress Club in San Francisco under the tutelage of Chef Cory Schreiber. After my stint at Cypress Club I went on to work at many other restaurants, such as Zuni Cafe,Oliveto’s, Stars and Chez Panisse.
My style of food, while Mediterranean in its influences (Northern Africa, Spain,
Southern France and Italy) is firmly rooted in comfort. From the basic pistou soup to a paella or lamb tajine, it is all based on what pleases the palate and makes you the most happy!
